MBK Food Pantry
The purpose of the Food Pantry is to provide food assistance to any individual or family in need. We are committed to maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality with the least amount of information being requested of our clients. Although the Food Pantry has been established primarily to help Mt. Hermon members, we provide the same opportunities for residents in the neighboring areas.
The Food Pantry provides but not limited to, non-perishable items consisting of canned fruits, canned vegetables, pasta, baby food, cereals, rice, soups, canned and frozen meats, fresh produce, bread and toiletries. Each month, we will assist between 80 to 300 people.
The Food Pantry is open every 3rd Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. for our clients to shop for items free of charge. It is located in the MBK/DJW Family Life Center on the campus of Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church. The Food Pantry is handicap accessible. In accordance with Mid-Ohio Food bank regulations, we request only one (1) form of identification.
Approximately 20 Food Pantry volunteers assist in stocking shelves on Friday, operating the Food Pantry on Saturday, picking up food donations from various locations throughout the city, picking up grocery orders on a monthly basis and making deliveries to the sick and shut-in.
100% of our funding is utilized to purchase food to keep the Food Pantry well stocked for our clients. We receive donations from the members of the Mt. Hermon family in addition to local organizations.
Donations are always greatly appreciated and should be sent to the address below. Anyone interested in volunteering or in need of information pertaining to needed assistance should call Deacon Nate O’Neil or Deacon Simeon Frazier at (614) 471-1133 Monday thru Friday from 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
